It was a joke, obviously: For the gain-of-function screen in human cells, we didn’t use CRISPR; we cloned a mouse cDNA library into lentiviral expression vectors.
Also, we were kidding about MF7 being ready for commercial release! This is an exacting, time-consuming project; we’ll be working on it (in our top-secret Examine biomedical labs) for years to come.
We expect to be running the first human trial (phase I) in 2024. If being a lab rat has always been your dream, you can already volunteer for this trial.
