    ADHD can run in families. Studies have found that the heritability of ADHD — the degree to which traits like ADHD can be attributed to genetic versus environmental factors — may be as high as 74%.[1] If you have a parent or sibling with ADHD, your risk is increased 2-8 times.[2]
