A primary care physician can treat primary Raynaud’s phenomenon. A rheumatologist should be consulted in cases of suspected secondary Raynaud’s phenomenon. In severe cases that are resistant to other forms of treatment, a vascular surgeon may perform a sympathectomy, which is a surgical procedure to destroy the nerves causing the affected blood vessels to narrow.[1][2]
