    There is currently no evidence that has associated the gut microbiome with avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) or supports the use of probiotic or prebiotic supplements as adjunct therapies for individuals with ARFID. Studies have primarily focused on other eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa.

    Several studies have investigated the relationship between the gut microbiome and various eating disorders, particularly anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. However, there is currently no available evidence on the association between the gut microbiome and ARFID, nor on the potential benefit of using probiotic or prebiotic supplements as adjunct therapies for people with ARFID.[1]
