A dietary recall is a structured interview to estimate an interviewee’s usual daily food intake. Its benefit is that it’s designed to thoroughly extract information about all their food intake over a set time frame in the past (normally 24 hours in the clinical setting). They are expensive to administer and require strong prompting techniques from the interviewer to help the interviewee remember what they consumed.
