Beef protein is made from beef protein isolate and often consumed in powdered form as a protein supplement. It is low in carbohydrates and fat and high in protein and amino acids, including alanine, arginine, glycine, leucine, lysine, and proline.
In this randomized controlled trial, supplementation with cricket-derived protein increased postmeal leucine concentrations compared to beef-derived protein. However, subjective hunger was lower after consumption of beef-derived protein.
