Edema is swelling caused by the buildup of fluid in the body’s tissues. Pitting edema is a severe form of edema in which if a finger is pressed firmly against the tissue for a few seconds, a dent will be produced, as opposed to the skin bouncing right back.
Pitting Edema falls under the Cardiovascular Health category.
