Flavonoids are a group of antioxidant plant compounds that include flavonols, isoflavones, and anthocyanins. They can be found in many colorful fruits and vegetables as well as wine, tea, and chocolate.
In this prospective cohort study, a higher dietary flavonoid intake was associated with lower risks of breast and ovarian cancers. The study also found associations between flavonoid subclasses and other hormone-related cancers.
