Chronic Liver Disease

    Chronic liver disease is a progressive loss of liver functions for a period longer than 6 months. Chronic liver disease is caused by inflammation and destruction of liver cells that ultimately causes a hardening (fibrosis) and scarring (cirrhosis) of the liver.
