Liver Enzymes

    Last Updated: October 13, 2024

Liver enzymes are used as biomarkers to test the toxicity of a supplement and are elevated in case of fatty or cirrhotic liver. Lower blood levels are thought to reflect less-damaged liver cells.

Liver Enzymes falls under the Liver Health category.

    Summary

The most common liver enzymes are aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT).
